Scholarship winners

Feb. 15, 2019 -- Former Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson and his wife, Stacy, have established a generous scholarship at Wichita State University to help children of undocumented immigrants earn their degrees to pursue the American Dream.

Jan. 29, 2019 -- Trevor Cumpston, a senior from Aurora High School in Aurora, Nebraska, has won the 2019 Wichita State University Clay Barton Scholarship.

Gore Scholars

Jan. 25, 2019 -- Three area high school seniors have been awarded Wichita State’s Harry Gore Memorial Scholarship. Each student will receive $64,000 to attend WSU.

Blane Steckline

Jan. 25, 2019 -- Meet Blane 'Deadly' Steckline, the Damage Per Second player for the Wichita State Overwatch team. In addition to being a junior computer science major, Blane is also a Grandmaster-tier Overwatch player, reached rank #64 on the North American server, and has competitive gaming experience at a semi-professional level.

Jan. 23, 2019 -- Wichita State University has chosen the top 11 finalists in the annual Distinguished Scholarship Invitational.

Bryant Lewis

Jan. 17, 2019 -- Bryant Lewis, a senior at Olathe East High School, has been named the 2019 Linwood Sexton Scholar at Wichita State. Lewis will receive a full ride to attend WSU as a business management major starting this fall.

Jan. 15, 2019 -- Wichita State University’s College of Applied Studies awarded five high school seniors the Doris and Ralph Klose Endowed Scholarship.

Jan 11, 2019 - Past recipient of the Clay Barton Endowed Scholarship and current Master of Innovation Design student, Bailey Bryand, believes in order for one to improve, one must innovate themselves. He has lived by this philosophy throughout his high school, college and professional career.

Nov. 7, 2018 -- Wichita State student Jimmy Vu, a computer science major, has been interning with Ennovar, WSU's Institute of Emerging Technologies and Market Solutions, as a software developer.

Nov. 2, 2018 -- Jessica Aldrich, a graduate student at Wichita State University, is leading the way in bringing StartUp Grind U to WSU. StartUp Grind is a global startup company designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs.

Sept. 27, 2018 - Zane Storlie, a junior majoring in computer science at Wichita State, has received a $10,000 a year scholarship from High Touch, a Wichita technology company. The scholarship is renewable and honors the memory of Pat Riddle, a WSU alumna and former High Touch employee.

Aug. 22, 2018 -- Wichita State students Jared Goering, Ryan Becker and Spencer Steinert are working together to positively impact lives through wearable technology. Together they created a product called Cyfive and have been perfecting it for the past three years.
